My wife and I love to play online casinos during our free time. It has been a diversion and a bonding moment for us. Once a month we do play poker in some casinos in Vegas but due to our hectic schedule and out of town trips playing our favorite game online is a better alternative. Good thing online casino has been incorporated in the web.
She is a sweet, loving and caring person. A person who can be a shock absorber when you feel you couldn’t hold on. Many people at her age always misinterpret her sweetness, but they didn’t know that she could be an open arm to comfort you and an open ear to listen for your cries. As she always says. “I’m only human being who can commit mistakes but I’m a person who is ready to ask for forgiveness.”
After 15 years, we are finally closing the chapter of our education. The moment we have been waiting for has finally arrived. Soon we will part ways and head towards different directions. After a period of time, some of us will be highly successful while others less fortunate but whatever it may, we will surely miss the youthful laughter we shared together, the sorrows and tears we had, the frown of our patient, teachers and most of all our dear alma matter.
Let us keep in mind that graduation is not just an end but is also a beginning. An end to five years of college education but a beginning of more challenges in life. We must face these challenges with courage and sheer determination. We must work hard if we really want to succeed. One of my professors said, “There are no shortcuts in life, the better things are earned the hard way”.
Let me end with one of my favorite quotations from “Destiny is not matter of chance, it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is to be achieved.”
A prosperous businessman driving along the highway collided with a truck. He was hospitalized for some weeks and was on the mend. In the meantime, his wife had received half a dozen letters of condolence from people who had heard that she had lost her husband. She was upset because he was very much alive.
She gave her husband the letters to read and one thing struck him. There was hardly a word in them about him: everything was difference whether he was around or not. ” It made him think”.
A man and his little son packed their knapsacks and set off on a two-day trip with their donkey. They strapped the two knapsacks across the donkey’s back. The little boy walked ahead leading the donkey, and his dad came up behind, encouraging the animal with a little stick.
They found a man sitting alongside the road and he asked them where they were going. They told him and he said, What are you walking for? Sit on the donkey and give your feet a rest. Donkeys are for carrying people and things, and they’re strong.”
So they both hopped on, much to the discomfort of the animal. But a policeman stopped them and said, “One of you better get off that donkey before I arrest you for cruelty to animals.” So the boy stayed on and the father walked along. The donkey was pleased with his lightened load and quickened his pace, leaving the man panting. They came upon an old woman carrying firewood. She saw the man out ashamed of yourself? A strong boy sitting down and taking it easy and letting your hardworking dad walk himself to death. Get off that donkey.” So he did, and the father got on.
It wasn’t long before a farmer said to him, “Aren’t you ashamed of sitting down and letting your little boy running to keep up with a donkey? Why don’t you walk; you, you’ve got longer legs.”
So no matter what the two of them did, people criticized. They even tried to carry the donkey, and were thought to be really stupid. So they let donkey go back home and they carried their own rucksacks and went along on foot.
One morning an especially large fell from the leaves of a tree right into the ocean. The waves took her along with them. She tried to free herself; but in vain. She was afraid that at any minute she could be wiped out. But just then she heard a voice call out,”hurry up. come into my house; here you’ll be safe.” Blindly she followed the saving call, And before she knew what had happened, the door of the clamshell closed tight. At first the dewdrop gave a sigh of relief. But then slowly it dawned on her that she might be safe in this new house, but never free again. She would never again. be able to reflect the rainbow colors of the sunlight.
She confided her worries to the friendly lady of the house. The old clamshell told her, “If you stubbornly fight against what fate has in store for you, you’ll just find yourself suffering hopelessly and helplessly. But if you patiently accept all that fate has in store, you’ll be ease.” And then she added mysteriously, “Then you will grow stronger from within yourself. And one day you’ll be a thousand times more than when you fell off the tree.”
But the dewdrop sulked. Then she finally decided to follow this advice even though she did not understand it. She lived on silently and without complaining, completely turned in on herself as the grew inside the clamshell. She somehow felt that there was happy about it and thought, “Good luck to the times that are past; today cannot last forever; and who knows what great thing tomorrow might bring?”
One day when the clamshell had its shell opened. the dewdrop saw some white flowers floating around in the water. But they were not flower; they were the fingers of the pearl diver, which plucked the clamshell along with many others from the reef.
Soon, they were all laid out on the beach and the girl opened each of them very carefully. Suddenly she jumped up with joy, “O look at the absolutely perfect pearl that I have found! It has the shape of a dewdrop and it reflects all the colors of the rainbow. It must be worth a fortune. They all looked at the precious pearl in her hand, as it lay on top of a lotus leaf. That pearl had started out as a very shortlived dewdrop, like the thousands of others around it.
